Governor Kathy Hochul is a champion for the working-class men & women of LIUNA!

Governor Kathy Hochul is a champion for the working-class men & women of LIUNA!

Governor Kathy Hochul has worked to create countless family-sustaining union jobs!

some examples Include:

  • DASNY PLA for Long Island Public Works Projects

  • $4.2B Clean Water, Clean Air, and Green Jobs Environmental Bond Act - Prevailing Wage Requirements

  • Climate Action Council Organized Labor Representative

  • Prevailing Wage required for developers of 1MW or larger Renewable Energy Projects

  • $9.6B JFK Terminal 1 Project - Prevailing Wage Requirements

  • Modernization & the Revitalization of Penn Station - Prevailing Wage Requirements

  • NYC Public Housing Preservation Trust Created with Prevailing Wage Requirements unlocking billions in federal capital dollars for NYCHA

  • $500 Million for new Offshore Wind Supply Chain facilities- these manufacturing facilities will be located at New York ports and will all be built with PLAs

  • Casino Licenses- Up to 3 new licenses will be awarded to downstate casino operators; any construction associated with these licenses must be under a PLA

  • Prevailing wage requirements were attached to EV and Hydrogen Fuel Cell Charging Infrastructure included in this past year’s State budget.

Governor Hochul and her team have worked with the NYS Building Trades unions to advocate for the use of PLAs statewide!

She continues to support the expansion of prevailing wage requirements on certain privately-owned projects.

  • A vote for her opponent could mean delays in this expansion and could set up a system that makes the law meaningless!

Governor Hochul’s opponent has voted AGAINST the PRO ACT and the Federal Infrastructure Bill!

These are the most significant pieces of legislation the unionized construction industry has ever seen.

  • Voting for Governor Hochul’s opponent would affirm a vote against the $1.2 trillion dollar bill that is bringing billions of desperately needed funds for infrastructure improvements and jobs to New York State.

That is why the New York State Laborers’ Union is proud to endorse Kathy Hochul for New York State Governor in 2022.

Governor Hochul has proven to be a true leader that is dedicated to our unionized workforce!

“Under Governor Hochul, the future has never looked brighter for working New Yorkers. The Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act combined with Governor Hochul’s aggressive green energy goals create a climate where our state’s workforce will thrive, and a thriving workforce means a strong economy. It is an unprecedented moment in history that can change the trajectory of our state and positively impact all New Yorkers for generations to come. There is nobody better equipped to lead that charge than Governor Hochul,” said Sam Fresina, Chairman, New York State Laborers’ PAC.

“I am humbled to have the hardworking members of LIUNA by my side as we build our State back better and keep our economy moving forward,” said Governor Kathy Hochul. “Growing up in a union household, I know how important it is for working families to take comfort in knowing their labor will be rewarded with fair wages, strong benefits, and safe workplace protections. Whether it’s creating good-paying clean energy jobs or rebuilding our infrastructure, I look forward to partnering with our union brothers and sisters to ensure that organized labor remains a vital part of New York’s future.”
